Play anything with Siri??

Why is this not included with Apple Music? I have Amazon Unlimited for $7.99 a month and I don’t have to pay extra to use Alexa.

Siri Using Apple Music Instead of Spotify I can tell Siri to play music on Spotify and it works perfectly, but whenever I say "Add song to queue" she says "you need to update your apple music subscription for me to do that". I have tried adding "on Spotify" to the end of the statement but that doesn't work. I have "Show Apple Music" turned off in music settings and I have every single Siri option turned on in the Spotify settings. How do I fix this so I can add songs on queue? It's very frustrating on my two hour long drives every day.

Does the Apple Music stock app have to be installed to use 3rd-party music apps? I would like to buy another app more favourable to offline music libraries to use on my iPhone with iOS 15. However, from what I am seeing, most alternatives state that the Apple Music app must be installed for their app to work. I don’t use online music subscription services as I have a large collection of CDs and the Apple Music app is getting worse at searching my offline music library via Siri. Therefore, I would like to get rid of it and use a music app which Siri knows is not part of Apple’s online music service. Siri and the older versions of the stock music app used to work great but this new ‘Apple Music’ monstrosity is like a retrograde step when using Siri to search my offline music collection.

Music Voice Plan with Alexa I have a standard Apple Music subscription, ending next month. It works fine with Alexa via my Echo Dot 4 connected to my soundbar. Since i just play random music by genre I don't really need the full subscription. I'd like to know if the Apple Music skill in Alexa will still work with The Music Voice Plan or, being not an Apple device, it won't allow the connection. Does anyone have any experience with it? Does it work? Hopefully there will be a week of free subscription for testing even for older Apple Music users, because even if it's only few euro I am stingy and I don't like to fork out money for a service I can only partially use! ^_^ PS: I know. I could buy an HomePod mini. But then I will get crazy switching from "Alexa" and "Hey Siri" all the times. I already get confused using Siri on my iPhone!

I use Siri all the time with Apple Music. Change Siri settings on iPhone – Apple Support (AU)

I don't know. It sounds like you are being subscribed to the Apple Music Voice Plan. Do you have a subscription to Apple Music?

Then why are they wanting $4.99 a month to be able to use Siri to control Apple Music? I’m confused. Thinking about changing from Amazon Music Unlimited to Apple Music. But I want to make sure I can use Siri the same way I don’t se Alexa.

I haven’t signed up yet. I’m still trying to figure out if it’s worth it compared to Amazon Unlimited.
