..Bryan5769:

Aside from an inability to determine the status of image output, from the graphics circuit of your M1 MB/Air,

from an internally derived 'screenshot' ~ which bypasses an external viewpoint.. There are sample ideas to try

to reset (& test graphic output) and one could then test the ability to revive, or restore the Mac M1 silicon..

• Revive or restore a Mac with Apple silicon using Apple Configurator - Apple Support

One is to use Apple Configurator, and another modern Apple computer; the process & details are are involved.

[This process likely would erase user content, and highly recommended to make and use full external Backups.]

This Apple Support article covers those, to far greater degree than most end-users realize. This could provide

means to 'professionally troubleshoot the hardware, firmware, & installed system' at an AASP or retail Genius.

Sometimes to restart M1 in macOS Recovery using shortcuts, can be used to access, or re-set various issues.

• Start up your computer in macOS Recovery

  1. Choose Apple menu > Shut Down.
  2. Press and hold the power button on your Mac until you see “Loading startup options.”
  3. Click Options, then click Continue.
  4. Enter the password for an administrator account.

• Start up your computer in safe mode

  1. Choose Apple menu > Shut Down.
  2. Press and hold the power button on your Mac until you see “Loading startup options.”
  3. Select a volume.
  4. Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in safe mode.
  5. The computer restarts automatically.

Troubleshooting by nature can often be hit-and-miss, especially at novice-level experience.

The integrated designs of these newest generation of Apple silicon 'systems on a chip' require different means

to diagnose; and basic older schemes to reset power, or graphics chips; no longer apply in conventional sense.

This effort could be done at an Apple authorized service provider, Apple repair service center, retail Genius; etc.

Be sure to first make backups of Mac's storage content, to external USB drive(s) and/or suitable backup clones.

Can you, yourself see what you describe in the screenshot you've posted above? Personally, I can see nothing out of the ordinary as has been mentioned by the others commenting in this thread. As was mentioned, if the LCD screen itself is damaged in some way, taking a screen shot will not reveal what you may be seeing on the LCD itself. Posting a photo of the LCD taken with a camera may be the only way for others to see it and comment on it. If it's an LCD issue that can only be seen on the LCD, then Apple would be the only ones who could evaluate the device.

Perhaps the content is obscuring your actual viewpoint; since the defect cannot be captured

by a means you persist that it should be. After 4+ days, evidently we're still outside the bubble.

Here's the most obscured method I know to clear the clutter; using an older filter than yours.

An Original KJV 1611 version (a scan of the original.) I suggest view output by another means.

[Better yet ~ schedule an appointment to have the unit inspected by Genius/AASP for repair.]
