Apps and settings automatically change

My wife’s iPhone 13 pro has been having issues for almost a year now. Most recently, the Pinterest app was removed from her device without her knowledge or permission, the “offload unused apps” was NOT enabled and she just used it yesterday. This has happened before with other apps.

Also, the Game Center in settings gets switched on by itself.

Text Replacement will change to a phrase that she didn’t put in.

The brightness of her screen changes automatically, even though ALL auto brightness changes have been disabled.

The Focus status gets set up automatically as well.

Please help…

Check her device list to see if there is a device signed in that she doesn't recognize. She can remove the device using the steps in the article below. As a precaution, change her password.

Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from the backup.

Restore to Factory setting.      *

Restore - If you see an error when you update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod.   *

Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup.     *

If she is still having the same problems after the reset, if you live near an Apple Store, make a Genius Bar appointment to have the device/computer tested. Supposedly there is no charge for testing. Use 2nd link if not near an Apple Store or aren’t in the US. Take the original purchase receipt with you. Hardware Repair - Keeping Confidential Data Safe.  -

We have done all of the above:

-restored phone from iCloud and pc backups.

-multiple Genius appointments where they’ve recommended device replacement which we did

-new Apple ID and new password

It just doesn’t make any sense. No information has been stolen. Her phone or Apple ID seems it’s been cloned or another device somehow uses her ID. She has no other device that uses her Apple ID.

Some Apple reps thinks it’s me, but I assured them it’s not!
