AFib Detection with Apple Watch

A friend gave me the idea that his Apple Watch 7 allowed him continuous measurement of ECG to find AFib. My Apple Watch 6 only does 30 sec segments that I have to initiate. Is there a way to have it run more continuously like the Cardioprogram ap does with Either the 6 or 7 versionsl

Apple watch does not record heartrate more often than not, watch does not read or record any heart rate measurements. The problem is erratic, NOT a fit issue, have recalibrated, reset phone and watch, all to no avail. No, i do not have power saving mode of any kind enabled...this question has been asked and no answers. Just gets dropped. Feedback sent to apple but still nada. What is the point of watch for fitness w/o heart rate?!

Afib detected on Fitbit but not on Apple watch I just bought an Apple Watch 8. I wear it to sleep but no afib detected however heart rate rises up to 110 while in sleep. I decided to wear Apple Watch on right hand and Fitbit sense on left wrist. My heart rates during sleep were similar however Fitbit notified me of Afib. Why? I bought this new watch because they said Apple has better heart detection. I’d appreciate any insight
