Trying to activate new phone. In Imessage my texts were being linked to my e-mail. I'm trying to link imessage just to my phone, but it just spins with the "verifying" message, and nothing is happening. I've tried resetting network but it still won't work.

It sounds like you are having trouble activation iMessage with your phone number. A great resource to follow is If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support. As it shows here, be sure that your wireless carrier supports FaceTime by locating them in Wireless carrier support and features for iPhone in the United States and Canada - Apple Support and that you are able to send and receive SMS messages.
