Magic mouse too slow

Hi,

I have a MacBook Air Retina 13-inch 2019 on macOS Montery Version 12.3.1, and a Magic Mouse A1296 3Vdc (I believe the Magic Mouse 1 with removable batteries).

In the system settings, I have changed the mouse tracking speed to the maximum. Additionally, I have changed the speed in terminal to 100 using the text

defaults write -g com.apple.mouse.scaling 100

When I verify it has indeed changed it to 100. The speed has improved but it is still too slow. It seems there is a maximum it will reach regardless of the number you enter. What else can I do to increase the speed? This is driving me crazy!
