M1 Macbook pro is asking for name and password to log in, the name field box is in a weird emoji language so any name i punch in is considered incorrect. So I cannot log in anymore.

Restart and retest. If no joy, start in Safe Mode, let it sit for a few minutes, restart normally and retest.
