HDR Video Issues in youtube

I am using iphone 12 and it doesn't shows 1080p HDR video option in youtube, its shows only 480p is Maximum

HDR on the YouTube app So I recently got an iPhone XS and wanted to test out the HDR display on it since I just upgraded from an iPhone 6s, so i opened up the YouTube app and searched for a HDR video and when i went to go click on 4k 60 HDR the option wasn't there and only showed up as 4k 60, no HDR option, i checked that this wasn't just me and looked at my brothers iPhone 12, and sure enough, it had the HDR option and what was really weird was that youtube on my MacBook Air worked and it doesn't have an HDR display but im assuming that just has something to do with the website. I also tried multiple HDR videos to make sure it wasn't just that single video. Does anyone else have this issue? if so, do you have a solution?

Youtube quality capped at 1080p on my iphone 11 pro When are apple going to fix or change the maximum quality of youtube videos to the actual maximum resolution these displays can go upto , that is 1440p instead of locking it to 1080p. All the other android phones do this, why is apple lagging behind. Are there any workarounds for this issue? If so, please let me know.

Is video quality lasts 480p on iphone11 @youtube ? hello there, i had a question to ask that in a while had been using my iphone 11 and am facing default 480p as still quality and there is no viewing option for 4k resolution (youtube) could someone help me out with this ?? thanking you sarthak

Hi Anoop4202,

We see you have a question about 1080p HDR videos in YouTube. This option might vary depending on the actual video. Are you seeing this on every video that you check?

You might want to make sure that the YouTube app is updated as well if you haven't already: How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support

I have the exact same issue on my iPhone 12! It only occurs on HDR videos, I can watch non HDR videos on 1080p though.
