SlideShow in Preview Cutting Top Half of Images Off.

I have a new MacBook Air running Monterey (12.3.1) 2020 M1. Whenever I use Slideshow in Preview to view images that are in the vertical aspect ie upright as opposed to landscape. The slide show after about one second cuts off the top half of the vertical image. This does not happen with landscape aspect images. Nor does it happen if I use Slideshow in the Photos App. I've checked all of the Preview Preferences and all appears OK.

The files are JPG's approximately 14Mb. I've run them through the same on my iMac Preview Slideshow with no problem.

Any Ideas anyone, it's not a great problem as I can use Photos App but that doesn't show the file numbers straight away for reference which is why I put the them into a folder first from the SD card. many thanks. Ted

Hey there, Ted,

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities to get help with Preview. Based on what you've described, we recommend starting with the steps outlined in the Apple Support article If an app on your Mac stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support.

While the title of the article does not address your issue directly, the steps included can help if an app is not behaving as expected.

Best!
