I just got the new IMAC and the sound quality is poor

Is the sound quality poor in all new IMAC's mine has way too much base

iMac 24″, macOS 12.3

If you do a search here, and on the internet in general, you'll find many such issues as yours. Generally if you want "big" sound you have to have "big" speakers and the new 24" iMac's are rather small.

Did you clear all shipping material off the speaker sound slots?

My experience is a set of the cheapest external speakers will give better performance than the small internal speakers

Oh my Lord! I cannot thank you enough, it was the packing strips! Who knew, well you did. I am so relieved as I was about to return it and was dreading all of the consequences that would imply. Thank you so very much, now I can start all over to enjoy my new computer.

By the way can you recommend a printer that will work with this new IMAC? It will not connect with my current one. All I need is a simple one for home use that is wireless.
