14in M1 max Delivery Delays?!

I ordered my laptop through Apple website, in early February and the order said it would deliver around the end of March. Towards the end of March, the order status page changed to the end of April and I was upset and talked to Apple support and was reassured it would come at the end of April. Now my order status has changed again to June 14th! I am not sure if there is a supply shortage or if anyone knows anything but what is going on? I need my laptop for a course I am taking in the month of May and now I don't know what to do. If anyone has any info on the situation with the M1 max's please let me know. Thank you!

Global supply chain issues—don't feel alone. This is on par from what I have seen—late June.

You can cancel your order anytime before it moves to shipping.

As mentioned above—I have had great luck with the refurbs/clearance/open box returns. They all go through testing and generic re-boxing. Same one yr- limited warranty as new. Certified Refurbished Products - Apple

The inventory can change daily/hourly. These are in stock items and typically at your doorstep in 24-48 hrs.

Deliveries worldwide are in disarray because of COVID-19 and staff shortages. That combination is making predicting deliveries extremely difficult. Unfortunately, you just have to wait it out. You can contact Apple if you wish, but the general "fix" is time.

"If anyone has any info on the situation..." We are not Apple and have no more knowledge and access to Apple policies and procedures than you do.

I actually had an order for 14 m1 max with 10core cpu and 24 core gpu with 32gb ram and 512 ssd. i ordered on 5 April and has eta of 12 may to 20 may, since the close down of the factory a week ago then open up partially, my eta date has still remained however I am worried if it will be pushed back to June or July since mine is ordered way later than yours. What spec did u order?

I also ordered my Macbook Pro 16" M1 Max with 32gb ram and 1tb memory back in December 2021 and now the estimated delivery is in mid-July 2022. It's been frustrating since the date keeps getting pushed months ahead. But I also live in Scandinavia and didn't purchase my new Mac straight from Apple, but from a re-seller so it might have an effect on the delivery date as well. Just a bit bummed since my current computer (Macbook pro 2016) is barely running and doesn't have the memory or space to run the programs I need in my profession. This has definitely set my work back for months now. Just hoping I get my new computer by the end of summer before new projects begin.

I’m just so surprised about this. I ordered mine February 8. And it won’t show up until June 15 at the earliest. So realistically we’re looking at 4.5 month delay from order to delivery. I can’t even imagine what serious issues are happening in supply chain to cause that.

But I’m sure apple wouldn’t have launched the product if they had known they couldn’t deliver within a reasonable time frame. I’d say anything beyond 8-12 weeks is unreasonable.

I’ve been checking Apple’s inventory for 32 core models in store for a week now and I’ve only seen one pop up anywhere. I wish there was an inventory checker app like istocknow… RIP

I ordered my custom M1 Max on February 2nd and have had the exact same experience as you. I was told that when my payment error was sorted out they would keep the original arrival time of my order. I sorted out the payment error the next day and made numerous calls to customer service experts at apple who reassured me that my order would arrive on time. The original arrival dates were March 29th- April 11th. My order shows that it’s still processing and that I won’t get it until mid June. I’ve been contemplating the past month about cancelling my order and moving on

I think we are on the cusp of unprecedented times, challenges will continue to persist for some time to come. I think Apple is doing what it can do to address the issues, however, changing production locations and everything that goes with it, supply chain, training labor etc. Is nothing that can change on a dime. These things cost money and take time and ultimately the consumer pays for it. Also not sure anyone in N-A wants those jobs, also not sure we as consumers can afford such jobs here (unions and all). Personally I am going to extend my replacement cycles to last longer. Repair rather than replace going forward. I waited 6 years to replace my current MBP. I may have to stretch it longer. As long as it runs it’s fine. Finally, looking at some posts of people thinking to switching to windows pc, now that makes no sense to me. Chip shortages and supply chain issues are affecting all manufacturers.

UPDATE: Order shipped (5/17/2022)

I ordered on February 8. My config is a 14” mbp in silver with 24 core, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd.

I was originally slated an April 4-15 delivery window. Most recently that had been delayed until June 15-29. My computer is officially arriving on May 26.

Now my biggest worry is that they’ll announce a MBP refresh in June, maybe even with lower prices, right after my return window ends. Ughhh.

I ordered a 16" M1 Max with 10-core CPU, 24-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine with 1Tb on April 5th too. It then said May 24th, then got an email saying it would be further delayed and then went back to May 24th after it showed May 23 in between. My status shows Shipping to store but there's nothing after that. Luckily I have my old macbook but that also is hanging by the thread.
