FaceTime Flip and Zoom Icons

When my camera is flipped on FT and I try to flip it back, the zoom (2x) icon is in the way and I have a difficult time selecting the flip because of it. Here’s a pic

You would think you could tap the far right side of the flip icon but sometimes I can’t get it to flip back, rather it just keeps zooming and unzooming. Am I doing something wrong or is this just a bad design?

Hello AngieRags,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

If you go to Settings > Accessibility > Zoom, do you see that Zoom is turned on here? Or are you using any other apps that change your zoom/display?

This Apple Support page has the full details: Zoom in on the iPhone screen - Apple Support

Also from the screenshot, it looks like FaceTime is running in a window on your iPhone. Or are you using a different app?

We hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hello AngieRags,

Let's keep going to narrow this down. You're right, this doesn't seem to be connected to Zoom because the 2 does not have an "X".

Are you able to select the 2? If so, what happens? We're curious to see if you might be multitasking as described in this guide: Multitask with Picture in Picture on iPhone. We'd also want to know if this happens in all FaceTime calls.

Keep us posted.

Take care.

So, zoom was turned off. I turned it on but it didn’t seem to make a difference…? I’m not using any other apps that Im aware of. The small screen that shows myself on FaceTime is within the bigger screen of the person I’m face timing with… I just cropped it down to show the actual problem. I’m looking over the zoom info to see if I can find more answers. Thanks.
