iphone 13 pro unable to restore from backup

Hello, I've not had much success with setting up new iPhone 13 pro. I'm trying to restore via backup, however, I continue to see a 'Restore in Progress' message along with 'An estimated 1.7 GB will be required to finish restoring your apps and data'.


I've tried several options including hard reset, deleting low usage apps, but really at a loss (it has been months).


I'm also concerned that critical security/feature updates cannot be made to iOS software during this time.

If you have access to a computer (whether yours or borrowing one from a friend/family member), try the section titled "Restore your device from a backup on your computer". You will also have the opportunity to sync your iPhone to a computer to confirm if the storage showing on your device is the same as on the computer.
