No longer surf internet via proxy on Wifi after updating to Mac OS to Monterey

Start by ensuring the you have the Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points.

Then, set up your proxy server:

“Set up a proxy server using Safari on Mac

Your network administrator may ask you to specify a proxy server to access the internet if your Mac connects to it through a firewall. Your administrator should tell you the type of proxy server to specify, the IP address or host name, and a port number.

1. In the Safari app  on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences, then click Advanced.
2. Click Change Settings (next to Proxies) to open the Network pane of System Preferences.
3. Change the proxy settings using the information your network administrator provided.
4. Click OK.” Set up a proxy server using Safari on Mac

Third-party software makers have worked really hard to convince you that connecting via a VPN is superior in every way. But every part of that staement is FALSE.

• Your are not better protected (and almost every connection you make today is encrypted anyway)

• It is not faster (it has to go through their additional servers to reach the internet at large).

• it is not better.

if you are using an Institional VPN connection, you should ask your Institution for assistance.

If you are using a VPN you installed, you should un-install it and never install it again.
