How to add cross dissolve to image or text in the new FCPX update?

I am able to apply a cross dissolve to a video in the timeline, but not a text or image.

Also, why does my timeline keep replaying from the beginning when it reaches the end? How do I stop that?

iMovie Cross-Dissolve greyed out? I'm working on a new Project in iMovie. I have imported two 'timelines' into the Project editing area, one of a motion background, and one of myself speaking backed by green-screen. No problem selecting Green/Blue screen and combining them, working fine. The 12-second motion background needed several copy/pastes to make it long enough to continue through the full speaking timeline, and I added cross-dissolves to make each loop less jumpy. Done, no problem. The speaking timeline was also split into several sections for 're-dos,' and now I'm trying to add cross-dissolves in between those sections also...but Add Cross Dissolve is greyed out, not selectable. This even if I separate the two timelines back into Cutaway instead of combined into Green/Blue Screen. Why? And how to enable cross dissolve on the upper timeline?

Final Cut Pro - export with transparent background transition on the end Hi Guys! I have issues with transparent background exports. I know how to export a transparent background but what I hardly never can manage is to use a transition effect at the end of the footage and export it with a transparent end. Sometimes, I don't know how, but I can export with a simple dissolve effect at the end, and it dissolves to transparent which I really want. But if I use a wipe, or something mose complicated effect there are some black frames, and after the transparent. Help me please how to manage it? Or is that a bug?

Apply effect to part of a synchronized clip Hi! I created a synchronized clip out of two clips and created a picture in picture for my video. I split the synchronized clip to cut out some content and applied a transition to the cut point. I later realized that I wanted to apply a reduced opacity to the picture in picture video as well as other changes to the background clip. I viewed both original clips in the timeline and applied the opacity reduction however it appears to only be applied to the first part of the split clip. The next part (after the cut point) lacks the modifications made to it. When I arrange to have the timeline show the individual clips, I can't modify the second part of the clip. Everything after the cut is sort of greyed out. How can I modify the individual clips in the synced clip after this cut point? Thank you in advance!

In 10.6.2 you can no longer drag and drop transitions from the Transitions browser to connected clips, nor to replace a transition in the primary storyline. To apply a transition select the clip or edit point you want to add the transition to, then double click the transition in the browser that you want to add to the project.

It's gotta be a case of they fixed what ain't broke. (a.k.a., a bug) FCP is usually the most Mac-like application I think I've ever seen and this is just stupid, especially from a "Mac-like" UI point of view.
