FCPX new effects not showing up in effects tab

Ive just updated fcpx by downloading a new version which replaced the old one (instead of just updating it) Since then i now cant seem to add new effects to the effects browser. The effects are showing up in the movies-motion templates-effects folder but when i restarted the app like usual the effect is not in the browser. I have tried this with two effects now. I have checked get info and extensions and they are all .localized so shouldn't be a problem. This only seems to be a problem for the effects folder a i tried to add new transitions and that works. Can anyone help ASAP.
