CAC reader no longer working after update

Updated my Mac to Monterey 12.3.1 and now I can't access any mil websites that are CAC enabled. Prior to the update I didn't need to download any certs from the CAC website it honestly just worked by plugging in my reader and selecting my normal certs to work. NOW I can't even get the webpages to load or the certs to pop up.. if they do it takes a good 5-10 min just for the prompt to display and then ultimately fail. Does anyone know if a fix?

Hi General_Jewbren,

Start by testing in safe mode. Starting in safe mode allows your Mac to perform certain checks and prevents some software from automatically loading or opening, which could help narrow down the cause of issue. Follow the steps in this article under the MacBook Pro model you have: How to use safe mode on your Mac.

If the issue doesn't continue while in safe mode, leave safe mode by restarting your Mac normally. Then test for the issue again. The issue might be resolved.

It's also a good idea to create another administrator account and test to see if the behavior continues in that account. This will let you know if the issue is account specific, or possibly system-wide. The steps in the "Add User" section of this article will walk you through the process: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.

Cheers.
