Editing photos to soften skin

For years, my go to editing process for my photos was LightRoom (now classic). However, well over 99% of my pictures come from my iPhone and more and more work is done with the photos app on iMac (even though I do not like the limited way to catalog/name). As the subjects of my photos have aged, so too has the look of skin, etc. With the greater capacity of the iPhone camera, especially the portraits mode, those skin defects show more. I don't want to remove the wrinkles, freckles, & age spots, but I do like to soften them a bit (just a bit). In LR, I had an adjustment to soften skin. Are there additional adjustments I can add to Photos edits or are there existing adjusts that would help with skin softening?

The best tool to soften skin in Photos are the tools for Portrait Mode photos. If you take the photos on your iPhone in Portrait Mode, you can use the the depth slider to soften the skin a bit.

When I need more advanced tools to soften portraits, I am using Luminar AI as a photo editing extension.
