Updating to 12.3.1 didn't do the trick. I found out while troubleshooting this issue that in order to get email from a blocked sender to go straight to trash, you have to first add that sender to your Contacts! Then go to Mail, Preferences, Junk Mail, Blocked, hit the plus sign and that will open your contact list. Scroll through the list to find the sender and select it to be blocked. Now any future email from that blocked sender will go straight to Trash. What a PIA!! Who wants to manually add hundreds of senders to your Contacts just so you can block them to go straight to Trash? No, we want to batch select emails from Junk, or even the Inbox, tag them as blocked, and have future emails from them go to Trash. I am in conversation with Apple Support about this and have informed them of my findings about having to add undesirable senders to Contacts just to block them to go straight to Trash. They are reporting it to Engineering. Perhaps in the near future they will have this fixed. Standby, again...
