iPhone Notes text deletes when selecting it.

While selecting some text in a note—by dragging my finger over it—that text actually deletes and I can't get it back. I did not hit cut, delete, copy, or anything. The text just disappears while trying to select it.

This has happened to me a couple of times now and so I am wondering if this has happened to other people and how can I stop that from happening again. And, is there anyway to recover the disappearing text. If I select paste after it happens the text in question does not show up.

Hi, Pmow2.

There wouldn't be a software setting that should cause text to be deleted when selected. It may be accidentally being deleted when some other option is accidentally selected during this process.

There is a feature, that is generally enabled by default that may help you out, however. It's called "Shake to Undo". If text is deleted, simply shaking your iPhone should give you the option to bring it back.

This can be enabled or disabled from Settings > Accessibility > Touch on your iPhone.

Cheers.
