error message "The application “Script Monitor” is not open anymore." appears then moves my files from its location to Downloads

My Macbook recently started moving my folders' location around when I'm in the middle of working. It would also take individual files out of its folders too. My macbook is running just fine and there are no mysterious applications downloaded. It makes it hard to save file while I'm working since it would randomly do it. At the beginning, it did it without me knowing. but now it does it whenever i get that script monitor error message. Restarting doesn't work.

Hi Izy_Bella,

If it's occurring with a specific app, checking for updated for the app may help. Use the App Store to update apps on Mac

The previous post here is for a different macOS version but may provide some insight to help: ScriptMonitor.app

To further isolate test booting to safe mode and test the issue in a new user account.

How to use safe mode on your Mac

You can also run a diagnostic to help test: Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac
