Airport Express audio out

I am currently using a second generation Airport Express to play iTunes from my Mac Book on my 45 year old B & O speakers in my living room. I have the Airport Express plugged into the tape monitor on a Denon Receiver which drives the speakers. Recently this setup has stopped working. The AirportExpress light is green and it appears on my network...I have changed the patch cord with no success and the receiver drives both speakers just fine when I turn on the tuner. I have tried plugging into the CD input, but that doesn't work either. Apparently no routers exist anymore that have an audio out. I have some spectacularly good speakers and am not interested in replacing them with a lesser wireless set up.

I just want my iTunes to play on my speakers!! Any ideas...

Good call, Malcolm Rayfield! I had not thought to try headphones and the phones worked just fine, so the Airport Express apparently isn't the problem. Now methinks I need to focus on the Denon receiver... The tuner works fine on the receiver. I no longer have a CD player, turntable , or tape deck so I won't be checking those, but clearly the sound is coming out of the AE but getting lost somewhere in the Denon receiver.

Thanks, Malcolm!

FWIW. The Tape Monitor port is typically at line level ... as is the output of the AirPort Express' audio port. You should just need to find another line level in port on your Denon to connect the Express to. For example, the Aux port.
