How to fix a problem with midi?

I am a user of SimplyPiano app. I have Yamaha clp - 340. Until update 15.4.1 it was working now the recognition of the attached midi - lighting cable doesn’t work. Without that I can not effectively learn.

Hi Kristina_Kas,

If you haven't done so yet, check for and install any updates available for the SimplyPiano app. You can do this by going to the Apps Store > profile icon, as described here: How to manually update apps on your Apple device.

If that step doesn't help, Force the app to close, then restart your iPhone:

1. From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.
2. Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close.
3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app.

It's also a good idea to test with another cable if possible. The last step to try would be to delete and reinstall the app. Keep in mind, you might lose data that was stored in the app when you do so.

Best regards.

That is not going to work. Apple has released a version that is not supporting older MIDI connections via USB Host (aka printer cable). Here is another thread on it.

It is not just Simply Piano that is facing the issue, it is Piano Marvel, Ableton, and so many others. It is not a cable issue, it is a iPadOS issue.
