Escape button not working until I restart my Mac

My Macbook Air M1 has this issue where my escape button randomly stops working, and the only way to fix it is to restart the device. This happens quite often. Does anyone have a similar issue? Any ideas on what could cause it?

Hello JuanR362,

We understand that you're running into trouble with your MacBook Air escape key not responding. We'd recommend reviewing the following, per the article: If your Mac doesn’t respond to key presses

  • Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Accessibility, click Keyboard, then click Hardware. Make sure Slow Keys is turned off. If Slow Keys is on, you must press and hold a key longer than usual before it’s recognized.
  • Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility, click Pointer Control, then click Alternate Control Methods. Make sure Mouse Keys is off.
  • Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Keyboard , then click Input Sources. Select “Show Input menu in menu bar.” Open the Input menu, then make sure the correct keyboard layout is selected.

Thanks!
