Teams on MacBook Pro

On my new MacBook Pro I'm using MS Teams and keep getting kicked out of meetings. I am able to get back in, but the call drops. I'm using a wifi connection that no one else is having issue with. What is the underlying issue and how can I resolve it?

If this is for school or work, then contact the teacher or the IT department for assistance. An IT Department will usually have support contracts with Microsoft.

Are you sure someone is not intentionally or even accidentally kicking you out from the meeting?

Are you using an Intel Mac or an M1 Mac? Also what version of macOS?

Are you using the Teams app or are you using Teams through a browser? Try the other to see if it makes a difference.

Are you the host, or just one of the attendees? Is this a large group in the meeting or a small group? Have you tried having a private meeting with one other user to test things out?

Have you tried using Teams at a different physical location to avoid any local network issues?

Try booting into Safe Mode to see if you have the same issue in case you have some third party software installed which is interfering with the normal operation of macOS. Safe Mode disables third party apps from automatically starting which may cause some things not to work since some drivers won't be installed (on some Macs this may cause the screen to flash/flicker due to macOS using a more basic GPU driver). Anti-virus apps, cleaning apps, third party security software and VPNs can cause problems as they interfere with the normal operation of macOS.

You may also want to try uninstalling the Teams app if you are using the standard app as well as any Teams' preference files. Reboot the Mac. Download the Teams installer again to reinstall Teams. You can also try using Teams with another macOS user account which can be easier than trying to delete all the Teams' preference files. Create a new macOS user account, log out of your main user account, log into the new user account and try Teams.
