Muting Logic Pro channels with Korg Nanokontrol2

I recently got a Korg Nanokontrol2 for use with Logic Pro (10.7.4). I've been able to get it set up for the most part, however I have a question regarding triggering the assignable buttons via the Learn method. I have the mute button on a particular channel programed to mute, however to unmute it, it must be pressed twice. I have the button feedback enabled so when it's originally muted, the 'M' lights up red. When I click the button again, the light goes off but the channel isn't muted until I hit it a 3rd time, when the light comes on again. A 4th press of the Mute button disables the visual feedback with the channel unmuted.

Clearly I have something that isn't configured correctly to keep it to a one press for on/off with the visual feedback the same way. Anyone have a thought as to what I may have missed?
