Unable to install Nikon NX Studio software on Mini M1 with MacOS 12.3.1

I just upgraded from an old 2016 MacBook Pro to a new Mini M1 w/16 GB of RAM. I am struggling to install Nikon's NX Studio software. I am running MacOS 12.3.1.

I am able to download the software and open the .dmg file. When I double-click the Nikon "Welcome" icon, the installer screen pops up with selections for Region and language. When I click "Install" almost instantly a dialog box appears indicating "The installation is complete." The thing is - nothing has been installed.

I reached out to Nikon support but they've been less than helpful, indicating to perform the install by saving the setup file to the primary hard drive, which I have done on numerous occasions. I've re-downloaded the file close to a dozen times, all with the same result. Nothing installs.

There are other software packages I've installed with no issue. Just recently I installed Adobe software with no issues whatsoever. This Nikon package just repeatedly bombs-out by indicating it completed when nothing runs.

I am completely lost why this package will not install. HELP!

Mac mini, macOS 12.3

Thanks for the tip on Pacifist 4.

I used Pacifist to verify the file. From what I can tell, it looks like the package is damaged or is missing file components. The results were as follows:

Package report for package S-NXSTDO-010200MF-ALLIN-ALL___.dmg

Generated by Pacifist 4.0.3

Package report for package S-NXSTDO-010200MF-ALLIN-ALL___.dmg on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 7:43:37 PM Eastern Daylight Time

12597 files were scanned.

75 of 12597 files were present on the disk.

0 of 12597 files had a file size of zero although a nonzero size was specified in the package.

60 of 12597 files had file permissions that did not match those specified in the package.

12521 of 12597 files had checksums that did not match those specified in the package.

Although Nikon indicates the NX Studio software is compatible with Monterey, they also state in their product requirements that they want an Intel Core-i series processor and that does not implicitly state or Apple Silicon. The software may simply not be compatible with Apple Silicon, even with Rosetta2. Nikon support should have been able to clarify that issue for you.

From what Nikon Support is indicating to me in emails from their Support Team, the are claiming that NX Studio should be compatible with Apple Silicon.

If I go in to inspect the package contents, the odd thing is that I do not see an an actual installer or what appear installation components - which leads me to think their package is broken somehow.
