Copying from SD card to Macbook Air gives error code 100007

I'm trying to copy an MP4 file (944MB) from an SD card (Kingston Canvas Select Plus) to my 2020 MacBook Air (running Monterey v12.3.1). The file is a video recorded from a GoPro (someone else's GoPro, and they gave me the SD card). When I try to copy it, it comes up with "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code 100007)."

I also can't play the file directly from the SD card. There is no thumbnail, and VLC thinks it has a duration of 00:00 so won't play it. Quicktime won't open it either.

Could anyone make any suggestions? This is the only copy of the file I have, and it's an irreplaceable video that I would love to rescue, either in its entirety or partially.

MacBook Air 11″, macOS 10.12
