iPhone 4 not connecting to iCloud

Hello -

I have an old iPhone 4 I am trying to see if I can use for a specific app. I have and iCould account an it can see all of my newer devices, but not this old phone. I was hoping to connect to the App Store to download any apps to see if they work on the iPhone 4. And sync some old photos on this old phone that are not anywhere else right now.

When using my current iCould credentials on this phone I am getting this error...

"Verification failed... the certification server is invalid... you might be connecting to pretending to be "setup.icould.com..." (that's the summary)

I am the original owner of this old phone and the phone originally connected to iCloud.

I am connected to WIFI but not cellular.

iOS 7.1.2
