I can’t get the speaker sound working again on my iPad. Only air pods/headphones work. Even updated to 15.4.1!

I’ve tried all the suggestions to get the speaker sound working again on my iPad2 model A1566. I’ve updated to software 15.4.1, restarted, checked the speaker volume works in settings\sound w/slider, restarted, cleaned the headphone ports, turned the bluetooth on/off. Only headphones/air pods work. Help, please! It just stopped working for no apparent reason.

If your iPad is stuck on headphones mode, and if you've already tried (to no avail) a "forced" restart of your iPad:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top (power) button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top (power) button. Only when the Apple logo appears (it might take 10-20 seconds), release that button (ignore all other screens that might appear, the one with the "slider" to turn the device off included).

contact Apple Support, using this link:--> Get Support, or make an appointment and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.
