Apple Watch haptics randomly stop working

Hi,

The last couple of months sometimes the haptics on my Apple Watch randomly stop functioning. This results in my alarm (and also timers or other notifications) on my watch going off but not giving any audio or haptic feedback (I just see the alarm notification with ‘snooze’ or ‘cancel’ but no sound or vibrations). Rebooting the watch does fix the issue temporarily but I’ve missed several alarms because of this and I’m wondering whether there’s a permanent fix?

Thanks!

Hello daan182,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. First, to begin isolating the issue, we'd recommend ensuring that both your Apple Watch and companion iPhone are running the latest OS versions.

You'll also want to check the speaker of the Apple Watch for any debris, along with removing its case (if applicable) to ensure it's not covering the speaker. If you find debris, you'll want to gently clear them away. How to clean your Apple Watch

Turning the volume up, along with managing the haptic alerts on the Apple Watch can also help: Change the audio and notification settings on your Apple Watch

Cheers!
