Text time stamps, hold/swipe left not work

Text time stamps do not show with 2020 recommendation for the SE. Please advise. Hard and annoying to not know when people initiated or responded to a text, and can be important. Thank you! Joni

Thank you so much for checking back in. I discovered the solution to getting the timestamps for my iMessages.

I watched an eight-second YouTube video of the process. Other posts have used the word "swipe" left and I was swiping as I would on a laptop trackpad. What worked for me was putting my finger on the text message and pulling it to the left, a little bit, keeping my finger on the screen. And peekaboo low and behold the timestamp shows 🕺🏻
