Dial pad tone

Surely there must be a way to get rid of the annoying dial pad tone without switching to silent mode.

No option to turn off the dialling sound Up to this very day, Apple has not provided the option to turn off the sound when dialling numbers using the Phone app/icon. You have the option to turn off the keyboard sound and even the lock sound but not the dialling sound. Disappointing. Besides, dialling sound is so old-fashioned. Who needs the funny sound when dialling numbers? Kindly have this option in the Settings > Phone to turn off the dialling sound. We shouldn’t be turning down the volume or even switching the silent button to off mode when we want to silence the dialling sound.

How do i turn off dial pad tones on iphone 14 pro (iOS 16) Hi, I am new to iPhone and been having a very frustrated switch from Android. Hoping someone can help. There is a loud dial pad tone every time I dial a number. I have tried to turn this off in sounds & haptics but issue still persists. The only way to it turns off is it to switch it to silent. Any ideas how I can turn the dial pad tones off at all times, as they are not the most pleasant of sounds? Thank you

I’m not sure what you mean by “dial pad tone”. If you mean the DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency) tones you hear when you touch a button on the keypad they are needed to tell the network what number you have pressed, and also, after you connect to an automated system, how you select menu items in the automated system. If the tones are suppressed you would not be able to “Press 1 to speak to a representative”, for example.
