Dell UltraSharp U2422H USB C-A Macbook Air 20202 no display errors

I am getting an error connecting my Dell monitor to my MacBook air. Please tell me I do not need another connection, I purchased this for the sole fact that its USB c to USB c.

You mentioned getting an error? What does the error say specifically?

Or is the screen just blank?

Try all the steps here as they relate to connecting to external displays to see if they help: If your external display isn't detected or appears blurry when connected to your Mac

It turns out the monitor is not compatible with the newer MacBooks with USB C-only connections. Thanks for answering. :)
