Image files show an icon, but no thumbnail image on the icon

This started happening recently after an update. MAC Mini M1 running MAC OS Monterey 12.3.1 I am a news photographer and I use hundreds of images on a daily basis. On my internal and external drives, the thumbnails do not show after a short period of time. A reboot fixes it temporarily but then it happens again. It's very frustrating trying to view hundreds a of files in order to choose one without having a preview showing.... It's making my editing take hours instead of minutes. For example. I load up an SD card and the images show fine on opening the finder for that SD Card. Then I copy the files to a folder on one of my other drives and they fail to show a preview there. Unless I reboot after copying them. It's really driving me crazy trying to work...

Try booting into Safe Mode, then restart normally.
