I cannot delete mail at all. When I try, it just comes back. Any suggestions?

Who is the Mail Servers for this account ?
Has the User verified that the Mail Server for this account is Not Down or Malfunctioning ?
Has the user logged into the Web Portal of this Mail Server to verify they are working properly ?

From what version of macOS was this computer upgraded From and to what Newer version was this computer upgraded to ?
The mail server is google and this has been happening for several weeks. Everything at google seems fine. We recently went with google fiber also, although this problem did not exist for the first few weeks, so I doubted it was them. I have other issues popping up so it may be something to do with Apple up grades, I guess.
Good question. Apple About this Mac says it is Monterrey 12.3.1. We are two people with a MacBook Pro and a recent iMac that both have Monterrey 12.3.1 I may be sharing his computer instead of being on my own. My husband is a little bit behind things in the computer department and never changes his settings and I adapt them for my own needs. It just never occurred to me that I my have inadvertently gotten into his space. We do share internet?printer connections. . That may be a thing of the past. Thanks......I think this is resolved and I will adjust the settings accordingly. Thanks so much.
