I just started getting these error messages on my Apple email app which connects through AOL. Only recent change was an upgrade to Monterey 12.3.1.
"The message “Best iPad Air deals for May 2022” could not be moved to the mailbox “AOL”
"Mail was unable to open this mailbox on the server “imap.aol.com”. The server returned the error: SELECT Invalid credentials"
Any suggestions?

Posting this again because it worked for me. Using Mac Mail/AOL. I'm no longer having issues, at least for the last 2 weeks. "My issue always happened when I was deleting emails. I changed the mailbox designated for trash under the tab "mailbox behaviors" from "trash" to "all trash" and it seemed to do the trick. For now at least!"
I am having this same problem. Does changing the password really work? This is very frustrating!

I'm having the same issue. Since it is always with my Verizon.net address on AOL and is not affecting other ISPs I consider it an AOL mail server issue.
