error -54 confusion

i tried downloading an album from the itunes store and i got error -54. came to this thread. went through all the steps: tried consolidating my library and i got the exact same error message. i don't have any third party security software. tried redownloading/restarting several times. connection is fine. but still, nothing works. what now? (running macOS Big Sur)

Switch libraries with the Apple Music app in macOS
If you have multiple iTunes libraries, learn how to switch between them in the Apple Music app in macOS Catalina or later.

How to switch iTunes libraries
1. Press and hold the Option key, then open the Apple Music app.
2. In the window that appears, click Choose Library.
3. Select the iTunes library that you want to switch to.
4. Click Choose.

You can also test in a new user account to see if the same thing occurs:
