Get rid of install monterey file

When I try to get rid of this file it says it can't be deleted because it's open but there seems no way to close it. I am prompted to install Monterey often. It's very annoying. How can make the prompts stop?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13

There is only one option when I click on it, to continue. If i click continue I have a choice to agree to licence agreement or disagree. If I disagree I go back to the previous screen. If I agree I have to select where to install it or I have the option back, which just takes me back to the previous screen.

From the drop down menu in the upper left corner>Quit

Does it show in the Dock? If the if you click on it you have two choices, one is Install and the other is Cancel or similar since I do not remember. Click on the Cancel or similar. Then you should be able to go to your Applications folder and move the installer to the Trash.

Alternatively you can try closing the the installer in the Dock by right clicking and selecting Quit

I have a MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014). I am using MAC OS High Sierra. I tried to delete it through launchpad. I then tried through spotlight. Spotlight just took me to launchpad. I clicked on it and nothing happened then I clicked on it again and it shook but no little cross appears. I tried to carry it to the waste basket and it says this app can't be deleted because it is open. When I open it, there is an option to install but on the top left corner all I can do is minimise not close, only a minus sign no cross is lit up.
