How to signout of an inactive Apple ID

Hi - I don't know why my apple id in my mac is stuck with an apple id which is 'not active'. How I know it is 'not active' is through the iforgot.apple.com page which says that the Apple ID is not active why I try to change the password of this apple id. I need to sign out of this Apple ID to put a new Apple ID and use my device effectively and not get notification in the apple ids. But to signout I am being asked to provide a password, I dont know how to get out of this loop.

This is not helpful.

Anything is leading me to "Apple Id not Active"

Even to deactivate it will ask the password of this.

So basically I am stuck between - ***@icloud.com (which is inactive) and ***@gmail.com (which is active). But somehow my mac is associated with the inactive ID in the Apple ID section, and anything I do is asking me for a password.
