sim not supported

I have a 3 sim card and moving over to my daughters phone (as she has a new one) who is also 3 but says my sim card in not supported on this network when she was also on 3

any ideas

I checked the carrier for my phone and the SIM card and they both fall under AT&T. My little sister's iPhone 6 (which was bought together with mine) activated immediately. Get a different SIM from 3 and try it.
