Apple Watch indoor run accuracy

We’ve used other sports watches that have been pretty good at recording indoor runs. The Apple Watch seems to be less accurate with pace and distance. For example Indoor run 4K takes the same time as outdoor run 5k it’s very frustrating any ideas if this has been flagged up with apple
