  • The Apple Remote (aluminum) is the name for the old style remote with replaceable battery.
  • The Siri Remote (2nd generation) also has an aluminum body, and is rechargeable.

Identify your Apple TV remote - Apple Support


To charge, do as described: Charge your Siri Remote - Apple Support

Charge directly to a computer or to a power adapter, like for iPhone or iPad.

There are no indicators on the remote to show it is charging. Read the charge level in Settings.
