In the process of transferring files. Will they still be on the older Mac. We will still be using it. HELP!

In the process of transferring files to a new Mac Laptop

from our desktop Mac. Will still be using our Mac and don’t want

to lose the files. Is that what I am doing?

Yes, the files will still be on your old Mac.
