2 accounts merged by accident and want to get rid of my association

I was given an I phone to use and created an ID. Now the original owner of the phone can't access her email. Should I delete my account?

Don't delete your account yet. Did you use her email address to make your Apple ID? What problems is she having getting her email?

Ask the previous owner to do the steps in the article below if they haven't already done so.
