IPod has gray striped screen, completely unresponsive.

I have been using this ipod for 2 days. After dropping ipod from about 2 1/2 feet in the air on a hard surface, ipod faded dark slowly then showed shades of gray lines across screen. tried resetting with buttons, did not work. ipod completely unresponsive. Is this a hardware issue? What should i do to attempt to solve this.

iPod fell down, screen turned blinking. iPod touch has vertical lines and hard reset isn't working I dropped my iPod touch accidentally on my wooden stairs. The screen did not crack, but the screen decided to show white vertical lines on a black background. This has happened to me many times and hard reset works but this time it is not working. I held the power and home button for 30 seconds and it is still stuck. Please help.

This is considered abuse. You will need to do an out-of-warranty repair. iPod Repair - Official Apple Support
