Mac Mail is missing a password field …

And I need access to it because of Google's mew requirement for 2-step verification and a Google-generated "app password". I've followed Google's instructions — open Mail's preferences, go to the Accounts tab, select my Google account and replace the password. Google's screenshot shows the fields for Incoming Mail Server, User Name, Password, etc.. My panel shows nones of those. I can't insert Google's password so am locked out.

Any ideas?
