Notes locked & will not let me use fingerprint

Please help! I’ve locked the note within the Notes app that has ALL of my passwords on it (including my Apple password) with my fingerprint. I have an 7+. I thought this was a safe way to keep my passwords. For reasons I do not understand, that Note now demands my apple password which I no longer remember and thought safe to be used inside with my fingerprint. I cannot get back to a fingerprint option. All other apps that require my fingerprint work, but not my one note that I thought was always accessible because of the finger option. How do I get back to that option?

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 15

It does not need your Apple password, it needs the password you set to encrypt the note.

If you can not remember it, you won't be able to read that note.

That's pretty much the entire point of encrypting something... so that no one can read the information without the correct key.

Touch ID is supplemental to the password.

You can't re-enable Touch ID for the notes without first providing the password.
