Why do I need a password 3 times for app approvals?

Answer previously given is to turn off require password. This is already turned off.

If my kids try to get an app from the App Store. It asks for the Apple ID password twice then asks to send request to parent and once I approve it then makes them enter their Apple ID password again. We have six children so you can imagine how painful this is. I'm as concerned as I am relieved others are experiencing this. There are multiple posts on this...

Has any one figured out how to fix this bug?

other unresolved quoted question:

When my children under age 13, select an app to request approval, they are required to input their password twice on their device before they get the option to Ask Permission. Once I have selected Accept on my device the child is then required to enter the password once more - again, on their device for the app to install! Why do they need their password 3 time for every app request? Is there a setting that can be changed? Is this really how Family Sharing or Screentime is supposed to work? I called Apple customer service and I got no where.

Hello Valentine_Dad,

Just to confirm, do any errors or messages appear when your children try to use the Ask to Buy feature, or are they only prompted to enter the password multiple times?

If the Ask to Buy feature isn't working as expected, the information and steps outlined here may help: If Ask to Buy isn't working

For more information on the steps to use Ask to Buy, please check out this link: Approve what kids buy with Ask to Buy

How children or teens can make a request with Ask to Buy

1. To buy or download an item, tap the price or Get button. Or if you're using an Apple Watch, double-click the side button, then enter your passcode.
2. If asked, enter your Apple ID and password.
3. Tap Ask. If your parent or guardian is nearby, you can tap "approve it in person" and they can approve the purchase directly from your device.
4. After your parent or guardian buys the item, it downloads to your device automatically.

Thanks!
