Brightness increases for some instagram reels automatically for iPhone 13 (ios 15.4.1). It’s like how brightness increases while we turn into cinematic mode and also watching videos in gallery. My auto brightness is turned off. It’s same even it’s turned on.

the issue is not exclusive to Instagram, It does this on some YouTube videos as well. Apple needs to make it so that app developers don’t have the option to trigger this because there is often no in-app setting to turn it off. It is a pointless feature regardless why would we want the video to suddenly be maximum brightness when our screens are turned all the way down for a reason?

I found a weird solution to it. Turn on low power mode, it disables HDR. Unfortunately have to do that now every time I watch reels or youtube but works for me. Hope that helps

Maybe I found a way:
Turn on Low Battery Mode and it won’t be super bright that way, it helped me.
Unfortunately I can’t find (maybe because there isn’t) anything else to turn it off.
